National Diploma in Technology – 2023/2024 intake

The medical test and interview for the selection of qualified candidates for Maritime Studies Courses of National Diploma in Technology 2023/2024 intake will take place from 6th May 2024 to 10th May 2024. The venue for the event will be at the Institute of Technology University of Moratuwa premises.

List of shortlisted applicants for the medical test and interview is uploaded in the following link and shortlisted candidates are required to be present at the institute premises on the assigned date.

An awareness (Introduction to the field) session followed by discussions will be conducted online for all shortlisted applicants on 1st May 2024 (Wednesday) at 9.00 a.m. via zoom. The meeting link will be notified through your email which has mentioned in the application in due course. Please note that, the participation in this session with either your parents or guardian is compulsory as you will be provided important information related to the Maritime Field and the Awareness session will not be repeated at any cost.  

Please note that all applicants must be accompanied by one parent or guardian for the interview. If a guardian is attending on behalf of both parents, written approval from both parents is required, along with a separate letter (formats have been uploaded in same above link and send via an email) providing consent for the applicant to pursue the course, signed by the parents.

Additionally, please ensure that you bring the original copies of the following documents for the Medical Test and Interview.

  1. G.C.E. A/L/ Certificate which you mentioned in the application
  2. G.C.E. O/L Certificate with English language as a subject (mandatory to have minimum ‘C’ Pass)
  3. Certificates to prove extra-curricular activities
  4. School Leaving Certificate
  5. Birth Certificate
  6. National Identity Card of student and parent/guardian (Also, you have to provide the copies of your and your parents’/guardians NICs to the interview board)
  7. Duly filled “Parents Data Record Form” (MSIT/T/86) provided with this letter.

Registration for Interview             8.30 a.m. – 9.00 a.m.

Medical Test                                 9.00 a.m. – 11.30 a.m.

Interviews                                     9.30 a.m. – 5.00 p.m

Note: Dress appropriately in smart formal attire suitable for an interview for all candidates. Further, it is advisable to maintain short hair and be clean-shaven for male candidates for a more favorable impression
